Searching for Open Houses
In Map View, search results always highlight the open houses that we know about* that are scheduled for the next seven days. A property with an upcoming open house is displayed on the map with a special pushpin (shown here) and the dates and times are shown in the property details.
* We have access to open house info for some, but not all, of the MLSs that we sweep.
If you like, you can also limit a property search to only those properties that have upcoming open houses.
To search only for open houses:
- Use Map View to set your search location. For more information, see Using the Map.
- On the Listings tab, in the Open Houses list, select a time frame. By this action, you are saying "Limit my search results to only properties with open houses scheduled on X day(s)."
- On the Listings tab, specify any other search criteria. For more information, see Searching by Location & Criteria.
- Click Search.
- Watch the Listings tab for the number of search results.
When your search produces between 1 and 5000 matches, a pushpin appears on the map at each property location and a list of the matching properties appears on the Listings tab. For more information, see Viewing Results in Map View. - If the number of matches is 0 (zero), there are no properties that match your location, criteria, and open house time frame. Change the open house time frame, remove the open house limitation as described below, or otherwise expand your search.
- If the number of matches is greater than 5000, narrow your search until properties appear on the map and Listings tab.
Note: "This Week" displays all open houses scheduled today and through the next seven days.
To remove the open-house-only limitation from your search:
- On the Listings tab, click the Open Houses list and select the words Open Houses. This action removes any day or day range limitation.
- Click Search. Search results now include properties with and without scheduled open houses.
