Viewing Bird's Eye Images

Bird's Eye view is a zoomed-in, side-angle view produced with aerial photographs. In most areas, you can switch the map to Bird's Eye view. This view can be displayed with or without map labels.

Note: Because Bird's Eye view requires a tight zoom, it can affect your search and reduce your number of search results. To increase your number of search results again, simply switch back to Road or Aerial view and zoom out.
To use Bird's Eye:
  1. Zoom the map in until the words Bird's eye turn from gray to white above the map. If this does not occur, it means bing™ does not have the necessary imagery for this region. Try again in a different region.

  2. Click Bird's eye. The map zooms in as necessary and displays a photographic view of the area from the south, looking north. The compass orientation is shown on the Navigator.

  3. To change the direction of the view, click Bird's Eye Clockwise Arrow or Bird's Eye Counterclockwise Arrow on the left side of the map. The view shifts 90 degrees to the right or left and the Navigator displays the new compass orientation.
  4. To overlay the Bird's Eye view with streets, street names, schools, parks, and other information, click Labels. To turn off this overlay, click Labels again.
To turn off Bird's Eye:
  • Click Road or Aerial above the map.
    The map changes to Road or Aerial view and zooms out one level.
