Zooming In on the Map
When you zoom in, you enlarge a portion of the map, increasing the detail displayed. There are three methods for zooming in.
To simply zoom in:
- In the upper left corner of the map, click Zoom In
. If you click on it once, the map zooms in one level. If you click-and-hold, the map zooms in until you release the mouse button.
To zoom in and change the center the map:
- Double-click anywhere on the map. The map centers on the point where you double-clicked and zooms in one level.
Note: If you double-click on the blue status bar, nothing happens. Move your mouse and try again.

To zoom in on a specific area:
- At the top of the map, locate the Mouse Selector and click the button to the left of Zoom.

- Put your mouse over the map. Your cursor looks like an arrow
. - Draw a rectangle around the area to zoom in on:
- At one corner of the area, click-and-hold the left mouse button.
- Holding down the mouse button, move the mouse to the opposite corner. A dashed rectangle is drawn over the map.
- Release the mouse button. The rectangle location is set and the map zooms in on the area that you outlined. If the map does not zoom in, draw a smaller rectangle.
