To view this new page, conduct a property search, display the Details tab for one of the properties, and then click . A separate page will open in your browser.

5,000 Property Listings: While you used to have to narrow your search results to 100 or fewer before you could view them, that number has now jumped to a whopping 5,000! That means that any time your search returns up to 5,000 listings, you will be able to see them in Map view or List view.

List View: A whole new way to view search results has been added to Windermere.com Search. In addition to Map View, we now have List View. List View is just like it sounds: Your search results are displayed in a list, you can sort that list by various criteria, you can click to view more details, and you can refine your search criteria at any time. List View is great for people who like lists more than maps and it's also the best method to use when you want to limit your results to only those on a particular street or in a particular city or zip code.

To use List View, select List when you initiate your search on the home page.

Map View: Now that we have a List View, as described above, we are using the name Map View to describe our original method for displaying results. This method remains pretty much the same, with one huge exception: You can now view up to 5,000 listings, 100 at a time. Pushpins still appear on the map, and the corresponding details of each listing still appear on the Listings tab. To view the next 100, just click the arrow on the Listings tab; both the map and Listings tab will update with the next 100 listings.

Condominium Pushpin: A new pushpin is now displayed on the map for condominium/co-op properties.

Large Photos: When you mouse over a pushpin on the map, the balloon now includes a Photos link which takes you directly to the large photo viewer. The large photo viewer is a separate window where you can see the photos for this property in a larger format and then scroll to the next and previous properties without leaving the window.

Mortgage Calculator: A mortgage calculator has been added to the Details tab to show you an approximate monthly payment based on list price, mortgage rate, and down payment percentage. These three variables are automatically filled in and you can change any of them as needed.

Details Tab Toolbar: The five links that have always been right below the photo viewer on the Details tab (Save, Email, More Info, Large Photos, and Clip It!) have been replaced with a toolbar in the same location. All of the features you are used to are still there, they just look a little different.

Initiating a Search: On the Windermere.com homepage, you no longer have to type anything in the search box before you click Search. If you leave it blank and click Search, you will be taken directly to the search tool with the map zoomed out to show all regions where Windermere sweeps listings from the MLS.

Initial Zoom Level in Rural Areas: When you begin a rural property search, the initial zoom level is now further out so that more listings can be displayed (between 70 and 100). In rural areas, property listings are typically spread across a wider geographical area.

Improved Search Accuracy: To improve the accuracy of some search results and avoid erroneous search results that fall outside of the United States, we have made adjustments to the way we submit searches to the Microsoft Virtual Earth™ maps.

Printing Photos: The Large Photos viewer now includes a Print button when displaying MLS Photos.

"Map Loading" Error: When your mouse is in mode, a single click on the map no longer causes the "map loading..." message to appear and stay on top of the map.

Details Tab: When viewed with the Internet Explorer 7 browser, the Details tab was too wide, causing some of its content to be obscured. This has been fixed.

Searching Condo/Co-Op by Default: When you begin a property search on Windermere.com, not only Residential properties, but now also Condo/Co-Op properties, are searched by default.

All New Search Experience: We have completely changed the way you search for property on Windermere.com. All of our former search methods have been rolled into one and your search now begins right on the Windermere.com home page. While the search experience may have changed, the key features of Area Maps and PropertyPoint™ interactive maps have been incorporated, you can still search by address, street, city, county, state, zip code, or MLS number, and you can still search for Premier Properties™, rental properties, and open houses.

If you were familiar with PropertyPoint™ 3, you will find that the new search looks very familiar. We started with that tool, made it a lot faster, and enhanced it with things like a Clippings tab, a tighter integration with myWindermere, a feedback form, an updated Help system, and new pushpins on the map.
